Save the date for the second annual Marketplace for Entrepreneurs - an engaging event to advance entrepreneurship in our region. The event brings entrepreneurs together along with other business and service providers.

There will be displays of entrepreneurs' new ideas, training sessions and speakers. The event is free for entrepreneurs and the public.

Minnesota Marketplace for Entrepreneurs will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato. The time of the event will be 12:30-7:00 p.m.

In the first year more than 600 people attended and there were 119 displays booths of entrepreneurs and businesses. We are looking to build on the great success of last year. Please check out the video link to see what took place last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lenM7rI5en4

The next Marketplace will once again feature great speakers, training sessions and the opportunity to network. Please send us comments on what you would like to see at the event. The goal is to help small businesses grow and to help new ones emerge.

The Minnesota Inventors Congress is coordinating 4 Inventing Success Workshops during the expo. Workshop titles:

  1. Deb Hess: An inventor's most important investment.
  2. Roger Belfay: Patent Law: A business perspective.

The type of innovative thinking that drives business creation often comes down to the vision of a single individual. This strategy (IDEA) focuses on uncovering some of the most promising ideas, and providing them with the support needed to be successful in the marketplace.

Wade Fauth, Grants Director,

The whole purpose of IDEA is to keep Northwest Minnesota supplied with innovative entrepreneurs...the kind of entrepreneurs that earned our reputation as one of the country's premier manufacturing centers.
